In 2015 he pushed his son, Shamus, in an adaptive racing wheelchair 3,205 miles from Washington’s Puget Sound to Long Island, NY while giving adaptive chairs to those in need along the way.

Casey Powell is an accomplished lacrosse player. While playing for Syracuse University, he was a four time All American and two-time National Player of the Year. He was selected to play on four United States National teams and was captain of Team USA in 2006, 2011 and again in 2015. He is named to the Inside Lacrosse All-Century team, MLL All-Decade team, North Country Sports Hall Of Fame, Upstate Lacrosse Hall of Fame, and the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
